So I have two more weeks left at home and then it is back to work for me. But for now I will continue to enjoy my time home with Reece. This week we are getting ready for Christmas!!! We cannot wait for all of our family and friends to be here. It will be wonderful getting to spend Christmas day with my family. I cannot remember the last time I was able to spend the holiday with my family. When you work in retail you do not get to go home much around the holidays. So this Christmas will be very treasured. It will also be Reece's first Christmas which will be fun! We will definitely miss all of our family who are back home.
So last night was a big night for Reece... his first night in his own room. He did well! Of course I wonder if he really knows that he is in his room and not in mom and dad's room? He had a very good night last night but I think he has a hard time falling asleep or he really just doesn't want to go to sleep. He will get a little fussy when he gets tired and he works himself up so much he has a hard time falling asleep. He will fall asleep in our arms but when we put him down he usually wakes back up... Once he finally gets to sleep he will sleep well. He is only six weeks old so I guess for being that little he is doing well! Reece also smiled at mommy and daddy yesterday!!! It was a wonderful sight and I can't wait till he starts smiling more! He gets cuter and cuter every day!
So I also got some exciting news yesterday... one of my good friends Crystal back home in NC is getting married! She is getting married April 17th and I get the honor of being one of her bridesmaids. She is a good friend that I have known since high school. We met through church and have kept in touch over the years. She definitely deserves this and I am so excited for her.
Speaking of NC... Jonathan and I would love to move back and be closer to both sides of the family. Please be praying that doors would open up so that we will be able to make the move a smooth transition. Having a child I think makes you miss the ones you are really close too especially family. Louisville has been an amazing home for us and we will miss it but I think both of us are ready to be closer with family. So that is the first step... now the jobs, where to live, and when to move come next. Please pray that this time will be a joyful time and not stressful. I love to have everything planned out but this time we will have to do a lot of waiting. We will do everything we can to make preparations to move but there is still a lot out of our hands. We will keep everyone updated as we know more!
I will try and get more pictures of Reece up soon!!! (I looked at him the other day and he had a 'Jonathan' look on his face... so handsome!)

First Night Out
So Jonathan and I had our first night out last night without Reece. We had Sydney, who is going to watch Reece when I go back to work, come over and stay with him for a couple hours so we could go to Jonathan's work party. We knew Reece would be in great hands and well taken care of but it was a little nerve racking to leave him for the first time. I held it together while we were leaving the house and then as soon as Jonathan mentioned something about Reece once we got into the car the tears started to come. I was not worried about Reece it was just sad leaving him for the first time.
The party was a lot of fun and it was at the bowling alley and Jonathan and I love to bowl! We had a blast! We checked on Reece a couple times during the night and everything sounded great! When we got home Reece was sleeping and he had a wonderful report from Sydney. So Reece did just fine and once I got my mind off of him I did fine too! It was wonderful spending time with just my husband and I know those times won't come as often so I need to cherish those times when we have them now.
Well, now we just need to finish getting ready for Christmas and for some family to come into town! Can't wait to see everyone! For our family members we won't get to see we miss you guys and hope that you have a wonderful Christmas!
Love,
Jonathan, Lindsey, and baby Reece

A New Adventure
Hello! So I figured that it was about time to start a blog, especially with our new addition! This will help all our friends and family keep in touch with us no matter where we live and get updates on our little guy. So bare with us if it takes awhile for us to really get the hang of this!
So Reece just turned 1 month old and I can't believe how quickly time has flown by! He just had his one month check up yesterday and he weighs 8lbs 6oz (he was 6lbs 8oz when he was born) and he is 21 inches long (19 1/2 when he was born). We can definitely tell he has grown! He is such a blessing in our lives and sometimes I have to keep reminding myself that he is ours and I am not just babysitting someone else's child. Reece is doing well for the most part. He has gotten a little fussy during the day and a little at night. He sleeps well for his age and we try to get as much sleep as possible. It is hard when your baby is upset and you can't figure out what is wrong with him. It hurts as a parent not being able to comfort him. Other than a little fussiness Reece is doing great!
Jonathan and I are also doing well. Jonathan is really enjoying his job with AT&T which is wonderful. He gets to work with some of his good friends which I think helps. My maternity leave is almost up and I will be going back to work at the beginning of the year. I miss everyone that I work with but I know I will miss Reece too. So it will be interesting. We have found a wonderful girl to nanny for us so that definitely puts me at ease.
As of right now we are enjoying getting ready for the holidays! For once I feel like I can relax and actually take in the holidays since I am not working and dealing with customers. My parents will be coming to Louisville to spend Christmas with Jonathan, Reece, and I as well as my brother. Reece cannot wait to see Gigi and Granddad! Then Jonathan's brother Tim and his wife Emalee will be visiting right after Christmas. They have not met Reece yet so that will be very exciting!
Well that is all for now. I hope that everyone enjoys catching up with our family over the next few months!
